Effective 16 August 2026

How Framewerk handles personal information across our website, products and connected services.

1. Scope and who we are

Framewerk is an Australian commerce operations software provider. This policy explains how Framewerk ("Framewerk", "we", "us" or "our") handles personal information when you visit framewerk.app, contact us, join a launch list, or use our products and services.

We aim to handle personal information consistently with applicable Australian privacy law, including the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles where they apply. Customer contracts may describe our data-processing obligations in more detail.

2. Our role when businesses use Framewerk

Businesses use Framewerk to operate commerce activities. When a customer connects a commerce platform or another service, that customer generally decides what information is collected and why. The customer is responsible for its privacy notices, permissions and lawful handling, and Framewerk processes the information to provide the requested services.

We separately handle account, billing, security, support and product-usage information for our own business purposes. If a customer agreement conflicts with this policy regarding customer-controlled data, that agreement governs to the extent of the conflict.

3. Information we may collect

  • Account and contact information: name, business name, role, email, phone and credentials.
  • Commerce and operational data: store settings, products, inventory, orders, customers, suppliers, staff, tasks, bookings, returns and related records made available through connected services or entered into Framewerk.
  • Communications: support requests, feedback and, where enabled, email, SMS, chat, call metadata or social-message content handled through connected features.
  • Technical and usage data: IP address, device and browser details, logs, timestamps, feature activity, diagnostics, cookies and similar technologies.
  • Billing information: subscription, invoice and transaction details. Payment-card information may be handled directly by a payment provider.

4. How we collect information

We collect information directly from you, from your organisation, automatically when you use our website or services, and from services you choose to connect. Connected providers may include commerce platforms such as Shopify, communications providers, identity providers, analytics services and other business tools. Their privacy terms also apply to information they handle.

5. Why we use information

  • provide, configure, support and improve Framewerk;
  • connect and synchronise authorised third-party services;
  • authenticate users, administer permissions and maintain audit records;
  • communicate about accounts, support, security, service changes and launch updates;
  • measure performance, diagnose faults, prevent misuse and protect systems;
  • manage subscriptions, records and business operations; and
  • comply with law, enforce agreements and establish or defend legal claims.

6. When we share information

We may share information with service providers that help us host, secure, monitor, communicate, support, analyse and operate Framewerk; services a customer authorises us to connect; professional advisers and insurers; and regulators, courts or law enforcement where required or permitted by law.

We may disclose information in a proposed or completed financing, merger, acquisition, restructure or sale, subject to appropriate confidentiality protections. We do not sell personal information as a standalone business activity.

7. Overseas processing

Framewerk and its service providers may process or store information outside Australia. Countries can change as providers and infrastructure change and may include the United States and other locations where our providers operate. Where required, we take reasonable steps designed to ensure overseas handling has appropriate privacy and security protections.

8. Cookies, analytics and marketing

We may use cookies and similar technologies for security, preferences, operation and analytics. Browser settings can limit cookies, but this may affect functionality.

We may send product or launch communications where permitted. You can opt out of promotional messages using the unsubscribe method provided or by contacting us. We may still send account, transaction, support or security messages.

9. Retention

We retain information for as long as reasonably needed to provide services, meet contractual and legal obligations, resolve disputes, maintain security and enforce agreements. Periods depend on the information, customer configuration and applicable requirements. Information may remain temporarily in backups, logs or records that must be preserved. We may retain de-identified information.

10. Security and data incidents

We use technical, organisational and access controls designed to protect information against loss, misuse, interference and unauthorised access, modification or disclosure. No internet service or storage system is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

If we become aware of a data incident, we will assess and respond under applicable law, including the Notifiable Data Breaches scheme where it applies. Customers must protect credentials, configure access appropriately and promptly report suspected misuse.

11. Access, correction and complaints

You may request access to or correction of personal information we hold. We may verify your identity and may refuse or limit a request where law permits. If a Framewerk customer controls the information, we may direct the request to that customer.

Contact us with privacy questions or complaints. We will respond within a reasonable period. If you are not satisfied, you may be able to contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.

12. Children

Framewerk is a business service and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly invite children to create accounts or provide personal information directly to us.

13. Changes

We may update this policy as Framewerk, our providers or applicable requirements change. We will publish the updated version here and change the effective date. For material changes, we may also provide notice through the service or another reasonable method.

14. Contact

Email hello@framewerk.app for privacy questions, requests or complaints.

This policy describes Framewerk’s privacy practices. It is not a contract and does not limit rights or obligations that cannot lawfully be limited.
